Barclays is a British bank headquartered in London. It runs five businesses: consumer banking and corporate banking in the UK, a private bank and wealth manager, an investment bank, and a consumer bank in the US. It operates in more than 40 countries and reported revenue of about £29.1 billion for 2025.
Barclays says it has had a significant presence in India since 1990. From Mumbai, Barclays Bank PLC offers companies financing, deal advice, risk management and cash and trade services, and Barclays Private Bank serves very wealthy clients. Barclays Global Service Centre, known as BX India, is the group's GCC (global capability centre: its own technology and operations hub), doing technology, operations and other business work for Barclays worldwide. It works from Mumbai, Bengaluru, Noida and Chennai and from a campus in Pune, which Barclays calls its largest site outside its London headquarters.
