Citigroup Inc., commonly known as Citi, is an American multinational investment bank and financial services corporation headquartered in New York City. The company was formed in October 1998 by the merger of Citicorp, the bank-holding company for Citibank, and Travelers Group, and is one of the United States' four largest banks alongside JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo. Citigroup is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker C and is a constituent of the S&P 500.
