About the role
Barclays is looking for a DevOps Engineer to lead the design, development and optimisation of its infrastructure and deployment pipelines. Based in Pune, the role focuses on building secure, scalable platforms that support the delivery of digital solutions for internal customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high‑quality software and automation using industry‑standard languages, frameworks and tools.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to define requirements and create integrated solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, promote best‑practice coding standards and share knowledge across teams.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to internal technical communities.
- Apply secure‑coding practices and implement robust unit‑testing to ensure reliability.
- Guide junior team members or act as a technical advisor for complex problems.
Eligibility
- Demonstrated deep technical expertise in DevOps practices and related tooling.
- Ability to lead or mentor a team, or function effectively as an individual contributor.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and risk‑focused mindset.
Skills
- OpenShift cloud platform and virtual machine management.
- GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes and OpenTelemetry.
- Security scanning tools such as Sonar, WIZ and Prisma.
- Database technologies including IBM MQ, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Logging and observability with ELK/Observe stacks.
