About the role
Onit is seeking a Software Engineer focused on data to design, build, and maintain pipelines, services, and APIs that power analytics and AI features across its legal‑operations platform. The role blends solid software engineering practices with data‑centric problem solving, working alongside senior engineers, product managers, data scientists, and QA.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and operate data pipelines, backend services, and RESTful APIs that ingest, transform, and expose data for product features.
- Write efficient SQL queries, create and evolve relational schemas in PostgreSQL, SQL Server or MySQL.
- Implement automated data‑quality checks, unit tests, and monitoring to catch issues early.
- Debug and resolve data‑related incidents, escalating complex problems when needed.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and sprint planning to ensure timely delivery.
- Document designs, processes, and share knowledge with the team while continuously upskilling in data engineering.
