Junior Application Support & Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Apple is hiring a Junior Application Support & Site Reliability Engineer for its Bengaluru office. The role focuses on keeping mission‑critical applications reliable, available and performant across multiple environments, combining production support, automation and modern SRE practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health, performance and capacity of critical services and respond to production alerts.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, incident triage and root‑cause analysis.
• Automate routine tasks using Python or Bash and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) and optimise SQL queries.
• Build and refine observability dashboards and alerting rules with tools like Splunk, Grafana and Prometheus.
• Collaborate with development, QA and infrastructure teams to implement permanent fixes.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in application production support, DevOps, systems engineering or SRE.
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix fundamentals and networking.
• Proficiency in Java or Python for debugging and automation.

Skills

• Linux/Unix system administration.

• SQL and relational database troubleshooting.
• Observability tools (Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace).
• CI/CD concepts and tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven, Gradle).
