Apprentice Software Engineer

About the role

Pearson is offering an entry‑level apprenticeship for recent graduates to work on the ServiceNow platform. Based in Chennai, the position provides hands‑on exposure to platform administration, performance analytics, CMDB maintenance and emerging AI features while following Agile practices. Candidates will receive structured training and mentorship to build a solid foundation in enterprise IT service management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Level 1 support for ServiceNow applications and related processes.
• Assist in configuring and customizing the platform under senior guidance.
• Generate reports, dashboards and analytics using Performance Analytics.
• Maintain the Configuration Management Database and manage user access.
• Handle data imports, integrations and ensure data quality across systems.
• Support semi‑annual upgrades and quarterly patch cycles to keep the platform stable.

Eligibility

• Graduated with a B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc/M.E/M.Tech/M.Sc in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, Data Science or related fields.
• Less than one year of professional experience (freshers encouraged).
• Registered on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal as required by the Apprenticeship Act, 1961.
• Strong analytical mindset and eagerness to learn the ServiceNow ecosystem.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills for a global environment.

Skills

• Fundamental understanding of IT concepts and software development life‑cycle.
• Basic proficiency with ServiceNow modules, CMDB and Performance Analytics.
• Problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Good verbal and written communication.
