About the role

NVIDIA is seeking a Software Configuration Management Engineer for its Hardware team in Bangalore. You will own the end‑to‑end SCM stack, automate processes, and help thousands of engineers worldwide work efficiently with large‑scale GitLab deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full SCM environment, including applications, OS, and server hardware.
  • Design and implement automation to boost reliability and performance of the GitLab infrastructure.
  • Lead or contribute to GitLab upgrades, migrations, architectural reviews, and root‑cause analyses.
  • Collaborate with a global team to evaluate technologies, draft design documents, and schedule enhancements.
  • Improve daily productivity for chip designers and software engineers through tooling and process improvements.

Eligibility

  • MS (preferred) or BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in SCM and large‑scale GitLab environments.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Skills

  • Deep knowledge of SCM processes; experience with GitLab, Perforce, Subversion or ClearCase.
  • Proficiency in scripting and object‑oriented languages such as Python, Perl or Ruby.
  • Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools like Ansible or Puppet.
  • Linux system administration (Rocky Linux, CentOS/RHEL, Ubuntu) and PostgreSQL database familiarity.
  • Problem‑solving mindset with a proactive, can‑do attitude.
