About the role

The MS Service Engineer (L1) at NTT DATA is an entry‑level managed‑services position based in Mumbai. You will monitor client infrastructure, troubleshoot network and system incidents, fulfill service requests and help maintain service continuity while gaining exposure to enterprise networking, data‑center and storage technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first‑line support for client IT infrastructure, monitoring alerts and identifying issues before they impact services.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and follow documented procedures for remediation.
  • Fulfill approved service requests, execute maintenance tasks, patching and configuration changes.
  • Deliver telephone or chat support to clients, ensuring clear communication and timely updates.
  • Maintain shift handover documentation, update knowledge articles and suggest automation opportunities.
  • Participate in disaster‑recovery testing and contribute to project work as required.

Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computing, or related fields (B.E, B.Tech, B.Sc, BCA).
  • CCNA or an equivalent networking certification.
  • Entry‑level experience or completion of a relevant internship.
  • Basic understanding of networking, data‑center, systems or storage environments.
  • Strong analytical, communication and customer‑service skills.

  • Fundamental networking concepts and CCNA knowledge.
  • Network troubleshooting, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching.
  • VPN technologies, firewalls and ISP connectivity.
