Responsibilities

  • Translate approved UX mockups into production‑ready JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for screen, window, and tab sharing features.
  • Develop and maintain browser UI components that meet Mozilla’s standards for testing, accessibility, and localization.
  • Collaborate with UX designers to resolve edge‑case scenarios and with QA engineers to validate implementations.
  • Support partner testing across major web‑conferencing platforms.
  • Submit code through public review on Phabricator and ensure it lands in mozilla‑central.

Eligibility

  • Minimum 4 years of experience building production‑grade user interfaces with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Proven ability to follow approved designs and raise concerns when designs lack coverage.
  • Strong written communication skills for distributed, asynchronous teamwork.
  • Comfort working in open‑source environments using Bugzilla and Phabricator.

Skills

  • JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • Accessibility best practices for modal dialogs and list navigation
  • Automated UI testing frameworks (browser‑chrome, mochitest)

  • Asynchronous written communication across time zones

Benefits

  • Competitive contract compensation aligned with senior engineering rates.
  • Fully remote work from anywhere in Canada.
  • Opportunity to contribute to a widely used open‑source browser.
  • Access to Mozilla’s internal tooling and AI‑assisted development resources.
