About the role
Nationwide’s Technology team is looking for a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high‑quality applications that support a Fortune 100 insurer. Working in an agile, globally‑distributed environment, you will contribute to secure, scalable solutions while collaborating with business partners and fellow engineers.
Responsibilities
- Write, test, debug, document and deploy code following secure software engineering standards.
- Apply DevSecOps practices and tooling to embed security throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Participate in continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and cloud‑based deployments.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs.
- Prioritize tasks, meet project deadlines, and proactively address blockers.
- Support existing packaged or custom applications and contribute to their enhancement.

Eligibility
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field (technology certificates may be considered in place of a degree).
- Minimum of one year of relevant technology experience.
- Strong communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in an agile, global setting.
Skills
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, C++, Python or JavaScript.
