Senior Frontend Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer at AMBOSS, you will shape the user experience for doctors and medical students by building and scaling modern web applications. You will work on the Educator Experience and Course Experience teams, leveraging AI‑first tools and modern frontend technologies to impact medical education worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end frontend projects, from concept through delivery.
• Define and enforce best practices for code quality, testing, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Champion AI‑first development by integrating tools like Claude Code into the workflow.
• Partner with product and design to translate ambiguous ideas into clear technical plans.
• Handle ad‑hoc requests from customer‑support channels.
• Mentor fellow engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning.

Eligibility

• 5+ years of professional experience in frontend development.
• Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript and React.
• Hands‑on experience integrating AI coding agents such as Claude Code.
• Proven track record across the full software lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Experience with shared design systems, component libraries and API integration (GraphQL/REST).
• Strong understanding of WCAG accessibility standards and performance optimisation techniques.
• Excellent communication skills in English and a proactive, ownership‑driven mindset.
