Software Engineer Apprentice

About the role

Alcon is hiring a Software Engineer Apprentice to join their Lifecycle Management (LCM) Team as part of a 24-month apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities

• Support software development, maintenance, and lifecycle management activities for medical device products.
• Assist in implementing, validating, and verifying software changes and enhancements.
• Participate in functional, integration testing of medical devices and associated software applications.
• Support operating system upgrade and patch validation activities.
• Assist in root cause investigation, defect analysis, and troubleshooting activities.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree (B.E / B.Tech) in Computer Science, Information Science or related disciplines.
• Strong academic background.
• Basic understanding of software development fundamentals.

Skills

• Analytical thinking, attention to detail and quality-oriented mindset.
• Basic programming knowledge (C/C++/Python/Java/C#) is a plus.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
