The company was created on April 2, 2024 when General Electric Company spun off its energy businesses into a separate publicly listed entity, completing the multi-year breakup of the conglomerate alongside the spin-off of GE HealthCare and the rebranding of the remaining aerospace business as GE Aerospace. GE Vernova trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker GEV.
The company is organised into three main segments. The Power segment includes Gas Power, Nuclear Power (including the BWRX-300 small modular reactor partnership through GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy), Hydro Power, and Steam Power, supplying turbines and services to utility and industrial power plants. The Wind segment includes Onshore Wind, Offshore Wind, and LM Wind Power, manufacturing turbines and blades and providing service for wind farms globally. The Electrification segment includes Grid Solutions for transmission and distribution equipment, Power Conversion for industrial drives and rotating machines, Electrification Software for grid management and energy markets, and Solar & Storage Solutions for utility-scale renewable projects.
