About Shell

Shell plc is a British multinational oil and gas company headquartered in London, United Kingdom. Following its 2022 corporate-structure unification, Shell is registered in England and Wales with a single line of shares listed on the London, New York, and Amsterdam stock exchanges. The company traces its origins to the 1907 merger between the Royal Dutch Petroleum Company and the Shell Transport and Trading Company. Shell operates across upstream, integrated gas, downstream products, and renewables and energy solutions, with a presence in more than 70 countries. Its products include crude oil, natural gas, LNG, petrochemicals, fuels, lubricants, electric-vehicle charging, and hydrogen. In India, Shell operates lubricants manufacturing and customer-facing businesses through Shell India Markets, and runs three large technology and business-services centres: the Shell Technology Centre Bangalore (STCB), the Shell Business Operations centre in Chennai, and engineering and digital teams in Bengaluru. STCB is among Shell's three global research and development hubs and works on subsurface, computational science, digital, and energy-transition technologies. Indian fresher hiring at Shell typically targets graduate-trainee, software-engineer, data-scientist, mechanical-engineer, chemical-engineer, and process-engineer roles, with campus pipelines at IITs, NITs, BITS, ICT Mumbai, and tier-1 engineering institutions. Recent India hiring has emphasised digital, data, and low-carbon-energy roles alongside traditional engineering tracks.
