Comcast Corporation is an American multinational media and technology conglomerate headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The group operates through three principal businesses: Connectivity & Platforms, which includes the Xfinity residential broadband, video, mobile, and home-security services and the Comcast Business commercial-services unit; Content & Experiences, which includes NBCUniversal's broadcast and cable television networks, theme parks, the Universal Pictures film studio, and the Peacock streaming service; and Sky, the European media group acquired in 2018 with operations in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Italy, and other markets. The company was founded in 1963 by Ralph J. Roberts, Daniel Aaron, and Julian A. Brodsky as American Cable Systems and was renamed Comcast Corporation in 1969.
