Software Development Engineer (Fresher)

About the role

Wohlig is looking for a fresher Software Development Engineer to join its Mumbai team. You will help build high‑quality, innovative software platforms, work on scalable data solutions, and collaborate with senior engineers to deliver robust applications.

Responsibilities

• Assess operational feasibility by analysing requirements, designing solutions, and proposing implementation approaches.
• Create clear documentation, flowcharts, diagrams, and well‑commented code to illustrate solutions.
• Design system specifications, standards and develop code to install and configure solutions.
• Improve existing processes through systems analysis and recommend policy or procedural changes.
• Source and evaluate software tools, negotiate licenses, and validate products before adoption.
• Stay updated with the latest development tools, programming techniques and hardware.
• Participate in continuous learning, read professional publications and attend educational events.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive operational information.
• Collect, analyse and summarise development and service issues to provide actionable insights.
• Develop software by understanding user needs, analysing data flows, and following the software development lifecycle.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to develop software using Java, Ruby on Rails, C++ or similar languages.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies such as JPA2 and Hibernate.
• Experience with at least one web framework (e.g., Spring MVC, JSF, Wicket, GWT).
• Familiarity with test‑driven development and software engineering tools.
• Ability to produce clear requirement and specification documents.
