Data Engineer

About the role

The Data Engineer will join The Toro Company's data team to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that feed analytics and data‑science initiatives. Working in a hybrid setting from Pune, you will collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders, ensure data quality, and uphold security standards across cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product, analytics and data‑science teams to translate business needs into data solutions.
• Develop, schedule, and monitor ETL pipelines using Fivetran and dbt.
• Implement and manage the Snowflake data warehouse on Microsoft Azure.
• Write efficient SQL queries and Python/JavaScript code for data transformation.
• Document pipeline architecture, processes and data lineage.
• Diagnose performance bottlenecks and optimise pipeline throughput.
• Participate in code reviews and promote best practices for data engineering.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Proficiency with Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, SQL and a programming language such as Python or JavaScript.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
