Software Test Engineer

About the role

Emerson is looking for a Software Test Engineer in Pune to design, develop and maintain automated test scripts for web applications and APIs, while also performing comprehensive manual testing. The role supports laboratory test infrastructure, tracks defects, reviews documentation, and works closely with global engineering teams to ensure high‑quality software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute and maintain automated test scripts for web applications and APIs.
• Perform manual and automated functional, regression, integration, performance, smoke and API testing.
• Support and maintain laboratory facilities and test infrastructure used by global engineering teams.
• Investigate, document and track software defects using bug‑tracking tools.
• Review and validate technical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional and global teams to improve testing effectiveness.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation or a related technical field.
• Experience in manual and automation testing of software applications.
• Strong understanding of test planning, test case creation, execution and defect management.
• Hands‑on experience with Selenium, Katalon or similar automation tools.
• Proficiency in REST API testing using Postman or comparable tools.
• Programming knowledge in C#, C++ or Java for test automation.
