About the role

Anthropic is looking for a senior product engineer to lead the technical direction of Claude’s consumer‑facing web experience. You will translate product ideas into high‑quality, fast, and reliable web features using React, Next.js, and TypeScript, collaborating closely with designers and product managers.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical roadmap for Claude’s web and desktop interfaces.
• Develop and ship user‑facing features with a focus on latency, responsiveness, and reliability.
• Maintain a high visual and interaction quality bar, treating performance as a core product attribute.
• Partner with product managers to clarify user needs, scope features, and make trade‑offs.
• Iterate rapidly based on feedback, continuously improving the user experience.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience building consumer‑oriented web applications.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating attention to UI quality and performance.
• Ability to work in a fast‑moving, hybrid environment with at least 25% office presence.

Skills

• Proficiency in React, Next.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience with Node.js on the backend.
