Digital Design Apprentice

About the role

Synopsys is seeking a Digital Design Apprentice in Noida to support functional verification of high‑speed serial interfaces. This 12‑month, full‑time apprenticeship provides hands‑on experience building UVM testbenches, creating test cases, and collaborating with design engineers to ensure RTL quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain UVM‑based testbenches for verifying digital blocks of SerDes PHYs.
• Write and execute test cases, sequences, checkers and assertions to validate RTL functionality and protocol compliance.
• Analyze simulation results, debug failures and work closely with design engineers to resolve issues.
• Contribute functional coverage models and monitor verification metrics to improve design quality.
• Participate in code reviews and documentation of verification activities.
• Support coverage‑driven verification efforts throughout the apprenticeship.

Eligibility

• Completed Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Graduation batch of 2025 or 2026; not enrolled in or completed an M.Tech or postgraduate diploma.
• No prior full‑time employment; limited internship experience acceptable.
• Strong fundamentals in digital electronics.
• Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog with experience writing RTL or testbenches.
• Familiarity with functional verification methodologies (UVM/OVM/VMM) and protocols such as PCIe is a plus.

Skills

• Verilog and SystemVerilog coding.
• UVM (or similar) verification methodology.
• Understanding of PCIe or other serial link protocols.
• RTL design and testbench development.
• Digital verification and functional coverage concepts.
• Basic debugging of simulation results.
