Staff Software Engineer - Frontend

About the role

Sarvam is seeking a senior frontend leader to design and own the architecture of high‑scale AI‑driven applications. You will tackle real‑time streaming, complex media workflows, and performance challenges while guiding the broader frontend engineering practice.

Responsibilities

• Define and own frontend architecture for large, high‑traffic applications.
• Engineer real‑time and streaming experiences using WebSockets, SSE, or similar technologies.
• Optimize performance, memory usage, bundle size, and network efficiency.
• Build reusable components, design systems, and shared infrastructure.
• Collaborate with backend, product, and design teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Mentor engineers, lead architectural discussions, and improve testing, CI/CD, and release processes.

Eligibility

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with JavaScript, TypeScript, React and Next.js.
• Deep understanding of browser fundamentals, state management, APIs, caching and authentication.
• Proven track record designing and scaling large production frontend applications.
• Experience with real‑time/streaming, video/audio processing, and document digitization workflows is a plus.
