Associate QA Software Testing Engineer

About the role

As an Associate QA Software Testing Engineer at ASSA ABLOY Group in Chennai, you will ensure the quality and reliability of web‑based security applications by designing, automating and executing functional, regression and performance tests.

Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements and acceptance criteria to define testable scenarios and collaborate with the delivery team on the optimal testing approach.
• Create detailed test plans, scenarios and cases covering functional, regression and performance aspects.
• Build test automation scripts using Java, Selenium and Cucumber BDD framework.
• Contribute to the evolution of automation frameworks and reusable libraries.
• Integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines and run parallel executions under guidance.
• Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies and report testing progress to the SQA Manager.
• Validate that end‑user expectations are met throughout testing and after release.
• Log defects accurately, coordinate resolution with development teams and verify fixes.
• Research new tools and techniques to continuously improve testing efficiency.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 1 to 3 years of professional experience as a QA Analyst.
• At least 1 year of hands‑on experience with Java‑Selenium automation (TestNG or Cucumber).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Maven, Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
