About the role
As an Associate Software Development Engineer in Test at ReliaQuest, you will design, develop, and maintain automated API and UI tests for the GreyMatter security platform. Working on‑site in Pune, you will collaborate with engineering, SRE, and DevOps teams to ensure high‑quality releases and help embed AI‑assisted testing practices across the product.
Responsibilities
- Build and sustain automated API smoke and regression suites for backend services.
- Develop UI automation scripts using Playwright and, when needed, extend coverage to mobile platforms.
- Integrate automated tests into GitLab CI pipelines and maintain test reliability and environment stability.
- Investigate flaky pipeline runs, distinguishing between product defects, test code issues, or infrastructure problems.
- Analyze logs, metrics, and test reports to troubleshoot failures across services.
- Write clear, reproducible bug reports with detailed steps and technical context.
- Partner with Software Engineering, SRE, and DevOps teams to resolve quality and reliability concerns.
- Contribute to test standards, automation frameworks, pre‑commit hooks, and other quality tooling.
- Leverage Claude and other AI‑assisted tools to accelerate test design, code review, failure triage, and documentation.
- Identify repetitive quality engineering tasks where AI can boost speed and consistency, and share effective prompts with the QA/SDET community.
Eligibility
- 1–3 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering.
- Hands‑on experience with Java or TypeScript (or similar languages).
- Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, and status codes.
- Proficiency with Git and branch‑based development workflows.
- Ability to debug across test code, services, pipelines, and environments.
- Familiarity with AI‑assisted engineering tools such as Claude.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Skills
- Java or TypeScript programming.
- REST API testing and automation.
- Git version control.
- Playwright (or Selenium) for UI automation.
- CI/CD pipelines, especially GitLab CI.
- AI‑assisted tools (Claude) for test generation and analysis.
- Debugging across multiple layers (code, services, pipelines).
