Associate Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

IBM is hiring an Associate Site Reliability Engineer for its Finance & Operations unit in Pune. The role is entry‑level, full‑time and designed for candidates with a bachelor’s degree and up to one year of experience. You will work under senior engineers to keep cloud‑based services reliable, automated and well‑monitored.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain scripts and automation procedures that improve service reliability.
• Assist with routine code updates and participate in peer‑review processes.
• Monitor system performance, respond to incidents, and support on‑call rotations.
• Document incident findings and help implement post‑incident improvements.
• Support basic deployment tasks and ensure ongoing system health.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve service issues.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in any engineering or science discipline.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience or equivalent academic projects.

Skills

• Fundamentals of site reliability engineering and cloud computing.
• Scripting with Python or Bash for automation.
• Basic Linux system administration.
• Understanding of monitoring, testing and deployment workflows.
• Familiarity with IT service management principles.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or IBM Cloud.
