About the role

Philips is looking for a Software Technologist I who will design, develop and maintain embedded device software. The position is office‑based in Pune or Bangalore and requires hands‑on coding as well as the ability to guide teammates and shape architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse, design, code, test, debug, secure and deploy embedded software enhancements.
  • Integrate and maintain software on ARM‑based microcontrollers using interfaces such as USB, Ethernet, I2C, SPI and UART.
  • Collaborate with product owners to refine requirements and adapt solutions.
  • Follow agile and SAFe practices while adhering to medical‑device standards (IEC 62304, FDA guidance).
  • Apply safety concepts, FMEA and V‑model SDLC throughout the development lifecycle.

Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
  • 4‑9 years of proven experience in embedded systems development.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Skills

  • Embedded C/C++ development.
  • Experience with real‑time operating systems (ThreadX required, FreeRTOS preferred).
  • Proficiency in ARM architecture and peripheral interfaces.
  • Familiarity with medical‑device regulatory standards and safety analysis.
  • Agile and SAFe development methodologies.
