Associate Software Engineer

About the role

KLA is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join its Chennai office. The role involves designing, building, and deploying software components across multiple nodes, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and ensuring high‑quality code through reviews and documentation. Candidates will troubleshoot issues, stay current with emerging technologies, and contribute to the company’s advanced inspection and metrology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with diverse teams to translate project goals and requirements into timely software deliverables.
• Develop and deploy software modules that run on various nodes and manage concurrent instances.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices.
• Update documentation and knowledge bases to accelerate issue resolution for quality, support, and service teams.
• Diagnose and debug software problems, identify root causes, and implement rapid fixes.
• Proactively spot technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Perform thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Eligibility

• MS or M.Tech degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Strong object‑oriented programming skills in C#, Java, or Python.
• Familiarity with inter‑process communication technologies such as gRPC, REST, GraphQL, protobuf, and JSON.
• Experience with container platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm is preferred.
• Knowledge of SQL databases (SQL Server, SQLite) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
• Understanding of observability tools (OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Elastic, Kibana, Logstash).
• Proficiency in scripting/automation using shell and Ansible.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
