About the role

Kaleris is looking for enthusiastic final‑year students to join its CloudOps team in Chennai as interns. The role offers hands‑on exposure to cloud environments, Windows and Linux system administration, virtualization, security patching, automation scripting and IT service management under the guidance of experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily monitoring and operation of cloud platforms, identifying and escalating routine issues.
• Support patch‑management activities for both Windows and Linux servers.
• Perform basic VMware tasks such as health checks, snapshot handling and routine maintenance.
• Help install and maintain endpoint security tools, including antivirus and EDR solutions.
• Develop and run simple automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash or Python to reduce manual effort.
• Document system configurations, SOPs and update tickets in the ITSM tool following defined processes.
• Participate in training sessions and shadow senior engineers to gain practical operational knowledge.

Eligibility

• Final‑year student pursuing B.E, B.Tech or B.Sc in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Basic understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Fundamental knowledge of cloud concepts (AWS, Azure or GCP) is desirable.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn structured processes and follow escalation procedures.

Skills

• Operating‑system basics: Windows, Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS).
• Cloud fundamentals: AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Networking basics and IP/DNS concepts.
• Scripting: PowerShell, Bash or Python.
• Database familiarity: SQL Server, PostgreSQL or Oracle.
• Virtualization awareness: VMware.
• IT security concepts: patching, antivirus, EDR.
• ITSM ticketing and incident management.
