Senior Software Engineer - Frontend (Video Insights)

About the role

We are looking for a product‑focused frontend engineer to create high‑performance web dashboards and interactive visualisations that turn complex AI video insights into clear, user‑friendly interfaces. You will work with React, Next.js and TypeScript to build responsive, data‑rich applications for JioStar’s Video Centre of Excellence.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop responsive, high‑throughput web applications for video‑centric user experiences and internal AI‑insight dashboards.
• Architect reusable component libraries and UI frameworks to accelerate development across the Video Insights platform.
• Implement advanced data visualisations for video metrics, semantic search results and model performance using libraries such as D3.js or ECharts.
• Optimise frontend performance for low‑latency video rendering and real‑time AI inference.
• Collaborate with research and product teams to translate AI capabilities into intuitive features and the "Memory" system.
• Mentor junior engineers, enforce best practices, and maintain comprehensive testing and CI/CD pipelines.

Eligibility

• B.E or B.Tech in Computer Science or a related field (M.Tech/M.Sc accepted).
• Minimum 4 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 4 years focused on large‑scale frontend development.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across cross‑functional teams.

Skills

• Expertise in React (Next.js) and TypeScript.
• Proficiency with modern CSS solutions such as Tailwind or CSS‑in‑JS.
• Experience with state‑management tools (Zustand, Redux, Context API).
• Hands‑on knowledge of data‑visualisation libraries (D3.js, ECharts, Highcharts).
• Familiarity with video streaming standards (HLS, DASH) and client‑side video integration.
• API integration using REST/GraphQL and real‑time data handling via WebSockets or SSE.
• Performance profiling using Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, and Web Vitals.
