Software Engineer

About the role

Headout seeks a Software Engineer to create and enhance mobile applications that enable millions of travelers to discover and book experiences. The role focuses on building cross‑platform features with React Native and TypeScript while ensuring native performance on iOS and Android devices.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end mobile features that serve thousands of users.
• Develop cross‑platform UI using React Native and TypeScript, integrating native iOS/Android modules where needed.
• Participate in system design discussions and contribute to overall app architecture.
• Optimize app performance and responsiveness, including offline‑first storage strategies.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to refine user experience and speed.
• Take ownership of small features and deliver them independently.

Eligibility

• At least six months of hands‑on experience building mobile apps, preferably with React Native.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Understanding of mobile app architecture and platform‑specific guidelines.
• Familiarity with native iOS or Android development concepts.
• Experience with state‑management solutions such as Jotai or similar.
• Ability to work collaboratively and a keen willingness to learn.
