Graduate Engineer Trainee – Firmware Quality Assurance

About the role

GreyOrange is looking for a Graduate Engineer Trainee to join its Firmware Quality Assurance team in Gurgaon. The role focuses on validating embedded firmware for robotic systems, performing regression testing, debugging hardware‑software interactions, and supporting Functional Acceptance Testing before customer deployment. Fresh graduates with strong C/C++ fundamentals and hands‑on embedded projects are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Validate and test embedded firmware releases on robots, controllers, sensors and VDA systems before FAT.
• Identify, reproduce and document firmware defects, providing clear debugging information to the development team.
• Perform regression testing and verify bug fixes across communication protocols such as CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, RS‑232/RS‑485 and Ethernet.
• Support root‑cause analysis, distinguishing issues originating from firmware, electronics, or software.
• Maintain defect trackers, test logs, and validation reports, and contribute to CAPA activities.
• Assist in creating firmware test cases, checklists and regression test plans.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in ECE, Electronics, Electrical, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
• 0–2 years of experience in embedded systems, firmware testing or quality assurance; fresh graduates with relevant projects are welcome.
• Strong understanding of microcontrollers, firmware architecture and basic electronic schematics.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
• Familiarity with communication protocols (CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, RS‑232/RS‑485, Ethernet).
• Good analytical, debugging and communication skills.
