Staff Software Engineer, Frontend

About the role

We are looking for a senior frontend leader to shape the architecture, component system, and performance of our AI‑driven insurance platform. The role is fully remote within India, with a strong preference for candidates based in Bangalore, and involves close collaboration with designers and US‑based engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the frontend stack, including state management, routing, build tooling, and library choices.
• Consolidate and standardise the shared component library, migrating duplicated implementations into a single, well‑governed system.
• Own performance targets, enforce bundle budgets, and drive improvements measured by Lighthouse and real‑user metrics.
• Partner with designers to refine layout, motion, and visual hierarchy, ensuring a high‑quality product experience.
• Design safeguards for code generated by AI agents, including typed boundaries, lint rules, visual regression tests, and fast feedback loops.
• Mentor and review the work of other frontend engineers across India and the United States.

Eligibility

• 8+ years of professional experience building large‑scale production frontends.
• Deep expertise in React and TypeScript, with a track record of shipping customer‑facing products.
• Proven experience owning end‑to‑end frontend architecture, build pipelines, and component systems.
• Demonstrated ability to improve performance metrics and enforce strict bundle budgets.
• Strong written communication skills for asynchronous decision‑making across time zones.
• Bonus: experience with design systems, data‑dense interfaces, B2B SaaS, or LLM‑backed products.
