Staff Engineer - Platform Frontend

About the role

HighLevel is seeking a senior front‑end engineer to own the core UI platform that powers its SaaS ecosystem. You will shape the application shell, module‑federation topology, shared component library and performance tooling while staying hands‑on with code and guiding multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Design isolation mechanisms so a failing remote does not bring down the whole app, adding fallbacks, timeouts and observability.
• Define and manage independent release and versioning strategies for federated modules, including contract testing and fast rollbacks.
• Reduce bundle size and dependency bloat through strategic code‑splitting, shared‑chunk management, pre‑loading and CDN caching.
• Improve main‑thread performance by analysing long tasks, optimizing reactivity, virtualising lists and fixing memory leaks.
• Establish core web‑vital metrics, instrument real‑user monitoring and enforce performance budgets in CI.
• Implement automated accessibility, internationalisation and cross‑browser checks to maintain a high quality bar.
• Write technical proposals, review high‑impact designs, and mentor senior and mid‑level engineers across the organization.

Eligibility

• 9+ years of front‑end development experience.
• Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS with strong browser fundamentals.
• Extensive production experience with Vue 3 (Composition API); experience in React, Angular or Svelte is also acceptable.
• Proven track record of owning front‑end architecture and migrating large codebases without halting feature delivery.
• Hands‑on experience with micro‑frontends or module federation, including failure‑mode handling.
• Strong knowledge of modern build tools at scale (Vite, Webpack, Rspack, Turborepo, Nx).
• Practical experience implementing accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA) as an engineering discipline.
• Excellent written communication for remote, async collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and drive cross‑team change.
