Associate Software Development Engineer

About the role

As an Associate Software Development Engineer at Franklin Templeton, you will contribute to the Portfolio Analytics Tool platform, designing and building full‑stack web applications and services that enable financial advisors to create data‑driven client portfolios. You will work with modern JavaScript frameworks, cloud infrastructure, and emerging AI capabilities to deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full‑stack applications, services and APIs using React, Next.js, TypeScript and Node.js.
• Participate in sprint and release planning, prioritize work, and collaborate with product owners and engineering leads.
• Write unit tests, conduct code reviews, and optimise performance and code quality.
• Support deployment, release management and production operations, including issue resolution.
• Identify and prototype AI‑driven features, evaluate scalable technologies, and automate workflows.
• Research emerging technologies, integrate AI solutions into production, and drive continuous improvement.

Eligibility

• Minimum 4 years of professional software development experience, preferably in Agile environments.
• Proven experience in supporting production applications and troubleshooting issues.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Prior exposure to the asset‑management industry is a plus.

• AWS cloud services and DevOps tooling (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
