Senior Software Engineer - Frontend

About the role

Emergent is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer in Bangalore to own the architectural vision of its high‑scale AI‑driven coding platform. You will design reusable component systems, drive performance and security, and collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to ship reliable, user‑centric features.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the frontend architecture for large‑scale, distributed products.
• Design and implement scalable component libraries and UI frameworks.
• Translate product specs and Figma designs into robust, performant code.
• Lead performance, accessibility, and security optimisation initiatives.
• Mentor senior engineers and guide best‑practice adoption across the team.
• Partner with backend, product and design to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.

Eligibility

• 5‑8 years of professional frontend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Hands‑on experience with state‑management libraries such as Redux, Zustand or React Query.
• Demonstrated ability to build and ship large‑scale UI systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Willingness to work onsite in Bangalore.

Skills

• React, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+).
• State management (Redux, Zustand, React Query, etc.).
• Build tools – Webpack, Vite, Turborepo.
• API integration – REST and GraphQL.
• Testing frameworks – Jest, Cypress, React Testing Library.
