About the role

Barclays is looking for a Mainframe Software Developer to join its Pune centre. The role involves designing, building and enhancing mainframe applications that support the bank’s digital services, while collaborating with product, design and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Develop high‑quality, scalable mainframe code using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS and IMS.
Participate in code reviews and promote best practices for maintainability and performance.
Work closely with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Apply secure coding standards and perform unit testing to ensure reliability.
Stay updated on emerging technologies, automation and DevOps tools relevant to mainframe environments.
Contribute to risk mitigation, controls and continuous improvement initiatives.
