About the role

The Caching SRE will ensure the reliability, availability and scalability of Barclays' caching platforms in Pune. Using software engineering practices, automation and incident‑response expertise, you will keep critical services running smoothly and support the broader digital ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high‑availability, performance and scalability of caching systems through monitoring, capacity planning and proactive maintenance.
  • Investigate and resolve outages, perform root‑cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
  • Build automation tools and scripts to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
  • Optimize resource usage, tune performance and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Partner with development teams to embed reliability and performance best practices into the software lifecycle.
  • Stay current with industry trends and contribute to internal technology communities.

Eligibility

  • Strong background in operating and troubleshooting Redis at scale, including clustering, replication, high‑availability, backup/recovery and performance tuning.
  • Proven SRE experience covering incident management, observability, automation and operational excellence.
  • Solid Python programming skills for building automation and self‑service tooling.
