About the role

Barclays is seeking an API Infrastructure Engineer in Bengaluru to design, build and operate reliable, scalable infrastructure platforms that support applications and data systems. The role blends software engineering, cloud operations and automation to ensure high availability and security of services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, deliver and maintain infrastructure solutions using IaC, scripting and cloud services.
  • Provide L2/L3 support, monitor performance and drive incident resolution to reduce MTTR.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and create CI/CD pipelines with GitLab, Jenkins and related tools.
  • Implement secure configurations, conduct vulnerability remediation and enforce compliance.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, security and QA teams to align technical designs with business goals.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to internal technical communities.

Eligibility

  • In‑depth technical expertise in infrastructure engineering, cloud platforms and automation.
  • Ability to lead or influence technical decisions and mentor peers.
  • Strong communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.

Skills

  • Programming: Python or Java.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible.
  • CI/CD: GitLab, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle.
  • Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), Helm.
  • Cloud: AWS services (EC2, ECR, EKS, S3, CloudFormation).
  • Monitoring & Security: Datadog, Snyk, Qualys, ServiceNow/Jira.
