About the role

Amazon is offering a six‑month, full‑time, in‑person Software Development Engineer internship for the 2027 graduating batch. Interns will work on real‑world projects in distributed systems, data mining, automation and scalability, collaborating with experienced engineers across Amazon’s technology stack.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross‑disciplinary Amazonians to design and launch innovative products and services.
  • Build and optimise technologies within a large distributed computing environment.
  • Develop solutions that run predictions at massive scale and speed.
  • Create fault‑tolerant, low‑cost storage, indexing and query systems.
  • Interpret broadly defined problems and deliver well‑designed code.
  • Operate in an agile setting to produce high‑quality software.

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • Expected graduation year: 2027.
  • Must be able to commit full‑time for 24‑26 weeks with no other academic or employment conflicts.
  • Required to submit a university‑signed declaration of availability.

Skills

  • Strong grasp of object‑oriented design, operating systems, algorithms, data structures and complexity analysis.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C, C++, Python, Java or Perl.
  • Ability to articulate technical challenges and propose abstract solutions.
