Spend Data Analyst

About the role

Zycus is looking for a fresh graduate or early‑career professional to join as a Spend Data Analyst. The role involves analysing large procurement datasets, cleansing and classifying spend information, and delivering insights that help customers optimise sourcing, supplier management and overall spend efficiency. The position is full‑time, hybrid and based in Mumbai with possible openings in Bangalore.

Responsibilities

• Analyse procurement spend across suppliers, categories, business units and geographies to surface trends and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Perform data cleansing, validation, classification and taxonomy maintenance to ensure high‑quality analytics.
• Identify duplicate suppliers and support supplier‑normalisation and consolidation efforts.
• Examine purchase orders, invoices and other transaction records to build accurate spend views.
• Develop spend reports, dashboards and presentation‑ready decks for internal and client stakeholders.
• Conduct data‑quality checks, investigate anomalies and resolve gaps in procurement data.
• Collaborate with senior consultants, product, engineering and customer‑success teams to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
• Support implementation and enhancement of Zycus Spend Management solutions.
• Leverage AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT or Gemini to automate routine analysis and improve reporting efficiency.
• Continuously update knowledge of Source‑to‑Pay processes, spend analytics and emerging AI capabilities.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Business, Statistics, Mathematics or a related discipline.
• 0–2 years of experience in analytics, consulting, procurement, business analysis or a related field; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a keen eye for data quality.
• Good communication abilities for presenting insights to stakeholders.

Skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and reporting.
• Familiarity with SQL for querying procurement databases.
• Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Basic knowledge of Python for data processing (optional).
• Understanding of procurement fundamentals and Source‑to‑Pay workflows.
• Ability to work with AI/GenAI assistants to boost productivity.
