Software Engineer (Front End)

About the role

Wonder is looking for a Frontend Engineer to craft high‑performance, real‑time interfaces that let restaurant operators control robotic kitchen equipment. You will work primarily with Vue.js, TypeScript and CSS, leveraging WebSockets to keep the UI in sync with fast‑moving backend data, while collaborating with product, hardware and design teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Vue.js applications that serve as the main control panel for robotic kitchens.
• Implement and optimise WebSocket communication to ensure low‑latency, real‑time updates.
• Translate Figma mockups into production‑ready UI, providing technical feedback during design reviews.
• Identify and resolve frontend performance bottlenecks under high‑load kitchen scenarios.
• Work with centralized state‑management solutions to handle complex, reactive data flows.
• Explore and adopt additional parts of the stack, including learning Elixir/Phoenix when needed.

Eligibility

• Minimum 3 years of professional frontend development experience.
• Strong expertise in Vue.js (or comparable frameworks), TypeScript and modern CSS.
• Hands‑on experience with WebSockets and state‑management libraries.
• Good eye for UI/UX and ability to contribute to design discussions.
• Willingness to learn backend technologies such as Elixir/Phoenix.
• Based in Boston (Charlestown, MA) and able to work in‑office three days a week.
