Software Engineer II, Frontend-leaning

About the role

Turquoise Health is seeking a remote Software Engineer II who will primarily focus on building intuitive, data‑rich frontend experiences that help users understand complex healthcare pricing. You will work within a small, high‑performing engineering team, collaborating closely with product to turn intricate pricing data into clean, interactive web interfaces while also contributing to backend services when needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop Django‑based web applications using Python and PostgreSQL.
• Create frontend data‑visualisation components with React, TypeScript, or Vue.js to enable users to explore pricing information.
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Test, debug, and troubleshoot applications.
• Enhance existing system functionality.
• Prioritise and assess feature requests.
• Collaborate with teammates to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.

Eligibility

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience with Python (or strong experience in another language plus exposure to Python).
• Proficiency in frontend technologies such as React, TypeScript, and Vue.js.
• Experience with a Python web framework, preferably Django, or an equivalent framework in another language.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; non‑traditional backgrounds are welcomed.
