Remote Full Stack Developer (Frontend-Focused)

About the role

Brafton is seeking a remote Full Stack Developer who will primarily focus on the frontend, crafting custom WordPress themes, Gutenberg blocks, and responsive interfaces for a global client base. The position is fully remote, based out of Mexico City, and works closely with design and consulting teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom WordPress themes, Gutenberg blocks (ACF or React‑based) and plugins from design mockups.
• Convert UI/UX designs into responsive, accessible HTML, CSS/SASS, and modern JavaScript.
• Theme and maintain Drupal sites, handling content types and module‑level troubleshooting.
• Identify and resolve frontend and backend issues across WordPress and Drupal platforms.
• Collaborate with designers, consultants, and occasionally clients to refine implementations.
• Leverage AI tools such as Claude Code to assist in planning and execution of large projects.

Eligibility

• Minimum 5 years of professional frontend development experience.
• At least 3 years building and customizing WordPress sites, including Gutenberg block development.
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS/SASS, JavaScript and solid understanding of PHP (7.x/8.x).
• Practical experience with Drupal theming or module work.
• Familiarity with LAMP stack components like MySQL and Git.
• Excellent communication skills for remote, client‑facing collaboration.
