About the role

Vegapay is seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer to lead quality assurance for its fintech platform. The role involves creating and maintaining automated test suites for web, mobile, and API layers, ensuring high reliability and rapid delivery of new features.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and upkeep automated test scripts covering UI, mobile and API testing.
  • Log, track and verify defects throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Work closely with developers, product managers and DevOps to embed quality into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Execute regression, performance and load tests to maintain consistent coverage.
  • Enhance and optimise test frameworks and tooling for efficiency.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, story reviews and daily stand‑ups.

Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5–8 years of hands‑on automation testing experience for web and API applications.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language among Java, Python or JavaScript.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Selenium, Playwright or Cypress for UI automation.
  • Experience with RestAssured, Postman or Karate for API testing.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
  • Use of test‑management tools like JIRA, TestRail or Zephyr.
  • Understanding of BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, Behave) is a plus.
  • Exposure to performance testing tools like JMeter or Gatling.
