IT Intern

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is looking for a motivated graduate or fresher to join its IT team in Bangalore as an IT Intern. You will work on data, automation and AI projects, gaining hands‑on experience with Python, SQL, cloud platforms and generative AI tools while receiving mentorship from experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyse and transform data using Python and SQL.
• Develop simple scripts and automation utilities to streamline manual tasks.
• Assist in building data pipelines with PySpark, Databricks and cloud services.
• Explore and prototype Generative AI solutions using LLMs, APIs and prompt engineering.
• Create basic reports or visualisations to communicate insights.
• Support testing, debugging and documentation of code.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business problems into technical solutions.
• Follow software development best practices such as Git, Agile, CI/CD and responsible AI guidelines.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, AI, Engineering or a related field.
• Strong programming fundamentals, especially in Python.
• Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Curiosity for data engineering, automation and generative AI.
• Good analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Skills

• Python programming

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Familiarity with Databricks or similar data platforms
• Understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering and LangChain‑like frameworks
