Software Database Engineer

About the role

Texas Instruments is seeking a Software Database Engineer to join its research and development center in Bangalore, Karnataka. The role involves designing database solutions, automation scripts, and custom software tools to streamline the MTPG workflow.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new software tools, custom scripts, and database interfaces for use in the Pattern Generation (PG) process.
• Participate in coordinated technical efforts within the ATD-MTPG team to ensure consistent application of software engineering methodologies and best practices.
• Implement and drive continuous efficiency improvements and workflow enhancements across development methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional semiconductor and technology development teams to support critical path operations.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain database scripts and tooling infrastructure.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree (B.E / B.Tech) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in core software development principles.
• Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to balance multiple critical-path and time-sensitive tasks regularly.

Skills

• Understanding of the basics of semiconductor mask design and general knowledge regarding the use of masks in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Familiarity or experience with the Cadence design environment (schematic & layout).
• Advanced programming and scripting experience with PERL, Ruby, Oracle, and Unix Shell.
