Description

About the role

Supabase is looking for a seasoned Frontend Engineer to build and ship developer‑facing web experiences and core Studio tooling. You will take features from an empty editor to production, iterate based on real user feedback, and ensure high quality through robust testing and CI pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver end‑to‑end product features, moving them from concept to live user environments and iterating using support data and direct conversations.
  • Design and maintain a layered quality pipeline that includes type safety, linting, formatting, unit/component tests, contract tests, accessibility checks, visual regression, and bundle‑size budgets.
  • Implement permanent safeguards for bugs by adding the cheapest possible checks to prevent regressions.
  • Work autonomously across the full stack, handling UI, API contracts, preview deployments, and observability while collaborating openly in a public codebase.

Eligibility

  • Proven experience launching a product from zero to production and iterating based on real user usage.
  • Strong fundamentals in modern frontend development, especially React and TypeScript, with knowledge of SSR, streaming, server components, and edge computing.
  • Quality‑first mindset: comfortable setting up and maintaining tests, type checks, and CI pipelines using tools such as Vitest, Playwright, or MSW.
  • Experience reviewing and guiding AI‑generated code, providing guardrails and architectural guidance.
  • Self‑directed work style with clear async communication skills.

Skills

  • React
  • TypeScript
  • Next.js (SSR, edge, streaming)
  • Testing frameworks (Vitest, Playwright, MSW)
  • CI/CD pipelines and quality tooling
  • Understanding of accessibility and visual regression testing

Benefits

  • Fully remote work with a global co‑working allowance.
  • Equity participation through an ESOP program.
  • Technology stipend for personal work‑from‑home setup.
  • Comprehensive health insurance covering 100% for employees and 80% for dependents.
  • Annual company off‑site in a new city.
  • Flexible asynchronous schedule and professional development budget.
