About the role

Sumo Logic is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join its FinOps team in Noida. The role focuses on applying SRE practices to cloud and AI cost management, building and operating tooling that makes spend visible, attributable and optimizable.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain FinOps tooling such as cost data pipelines, telemetry jobs, dashboards and reports.
Implement unit‑economics and cost‑allocation reporting to map spend to teams and products.
Run cost‑regression programs, detect cost spikes and help resolve them.
Partner with engineering, finance and marketing to drive cross‑team cost‑saving initiatives.
Develop actionable cost alerts and budget thresholds modeled on SRE error‑budget concepts.
Automate manual cost‑reporting workflows and rollout new FinOps capabilities.

Eligibility

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or a related discipline (Ph.D. a plus).
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in data or software engineering.
At least 1 year of experience with cloud financial management or FinOps frameworks.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Skills

Proficiency in building and operating large‑scale data pipelines.
Experience with cloud cost management, unit‑economics and allocation concepts.
Solid coding and debugging abilities, preferably in Scala.
Operational expertise in high‑availability, multi‑tenant SaaS environments.
Familiarity with SRE principles: monitoring, alerting, runbooks and automation.
