About the role

Cisco is looking for a Cloud Engineer to design, develop, and maintain cloud‑based infrastructure and services. The role involves writing server‑side code, automating operations, and ensuring high availability of applications on public cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the team to design, develop and maintain moderately complex cloud projects.
Produce cloud infrastructure code and server‑side features using Java, Python or similar languages.
Evaluate existing technologies and suggest improvements for design and performance.
Gain hands‑on experience with public cloud providers and container ecosystems.
Build and sustain application infrastructure on assigned servers and migrate legacy services to the cloud.
Automate operational tasks and server management through scripting.
Maintain QA and production environments using automation tools.
Create monitoring and analytics tools to track system trends.
Identify and remove blockers to meet project deadlines.
Share knowledge with teammates and assist in problem‑solving.
Apply agile practices, understand timelines and deliverables.
Enforce security standards, policies and change‑management processes during deployments.
Develop solutions that improve availability, performance and stability at scale.
Perform a variety of technical and administrative duties across system design, development and delivery.

Eligibility

Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with no experience required.
Proficiency in Java 8+ or Python or another widely used programming language.
Familiarity with the Spring ecosystem, multithreading, asynchronous programming and profiling (desired).
Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and container technologies.
Understanding of real‑time system development.
