About the role

Sophos is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to design, build, and operate highly available, secure cloud infrastructure that powers its AI‑driven cybersecurity platform. The position is remote‑first, based in India, and expects you to bring 3‑5 years of hands‑on SRE experience to ensure reliability, cost efficiency, and compliance across AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform to provision and manage AWS resources.
  • Create, enhance, and support CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitHub Actions for automated, secure deployments.
  • Deploy, monitor, and scale containerised workloads on Docker and Kubernetes clusters.
  • Implement observability stacks (Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch) and set up alerts to meet SLA/SLO targets.
  • Lead incident response, perform root‑cause analysis, and drive preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with development, security, QA, and product teams to improve reliability and cost‑effectiveness.

Eligibility

  • 3‑5 years of professional experience in site reliability engineering or related cloud operations roles.
  • Legal authorization to work in India without employer sponsorship.

Skills

  • Terraform for IaC and AWS cloud architecture.
  • Kubernetes and Docker for container orchestration.
  • CI/CD tooling – Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Monitoring and alerting with Grafana, Prometheus, and CloudWatch.
  • Scripting in Bash or Python for automation.
  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and security best practices.
