Senior Software Engineer, Frontend

About the role

Sardine is seeking a senior frontend engineer to lead the design and delivery of high‑performance, AI‑driven user interfaces. You will build polished React/TypeScript applications, mentor peers, and collaborate with backend teams while operating remotely within the Eastern Time Zone.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and own user‑facing features using React and TypeScript, ensuring accessibility and performance.
• Set frontend technical standards, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude to accelerate delivery.
• Occasionally contribute Go code to backend services that power the UI.
• Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into production‑ready features.
• Produce clear technical documentation and help shape engineering culture.

Eligibility

• Minimum 7 years of professional software engineering experience, primarily in frontend development.
• Strong proficiency in English for both casual and formal communication.
• Residency in the United States and ability to work within the Eastern Time Zone.
• Demonstrated experience with AI‑assisted coding workflows (e.g., Claude).
• Leadership experience in setting technical direction and mentoring teams.
• Preferred background in fintech, fraud prevention, or regulated industries.

Skills

• Expertise in React and TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of UI/UX principles, accessibility, and performance optimization.
• Working knowledge of Go (or ability to become productive quickly).
• Familiarity with AI‑driven development tools such as Claude.
• Experience with modern frontend tooling and CI/CD pipelines.
